The US Department of Transportation (USDoT) is seeking public comment on how Vehicle to Everything (V2X) technology should be integrated into the transport environment.
The organisation says it intends to maintain the priority use of 5.9Ghz spectrum for transportation safety communications. It points out that the automotive industry and local authorities “are already deploying V2X technology and actively utilising all seven channels of the 5.9 GHz band” and says that technology such as Cellular-V2X (C-V2

The Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office (ITS JPO) will unveil a new connected vehicle training workshop at ITS America's 25th Annual Meeting and Exposition in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The course is based on the successful Connected Vehicle 101 classes that the ITS JPO has been conducting since 2013. The workshop will be held on 31 May 31 in the Welk Room of the Omni William Penn Hotel.
This instructor-led workshop builds on the Connected Vehicle 101 workshop by providing additional
Volvo Group Venture Capital has invested in Momentum Dynamics – a company which provides wireless charging technology for commercial electric, connected and autonomous vehicles (C/AVs).
Per Adamsson, vice president at the Volvo subsidiary, says: “High capacity charging up to 300 kW for trucks, buses, construction equipment, industrial and marine applications will support the electrified transition.”
Wireless electric charging is expected to allow any vehicle to automatically connect to the electrical
A UK organisation has identified 500 ‘milestones’ to be passed in order to get connected and autonomous vehicles (C/AVs) on the road in numbers by 2030.
Zenzic, which was set up by government and industry to coordinate a national platform for testing and developing C/AVs, has launched the UK Connected and Automated Mobility Roadmap to 2030.
It identifies six ‘golden threads’ which highlight areas dependent on cross-industry collaboration to make self-driving services accessible to the public by the end of
Aptiv has opened a technical centre in Las Vegas, US, to gather insights on its fleet of autonomous vehicles (AVs) and to improve safety operator training.
Aptiv says its AVs are supporting more than 1,600 destinations across Clark County and the city, including entertainment venues such as the Las Vegas Convention Center and City Hall.
In May, Aptiv launched 30 AVs in the city to pick up riders using Lyft’s app and network.
The new, 130,000 square-foot technical centre will facilitate vehicle opera
