Volvo Group Venture Capital invests in wireless electric charging

Volvo Group Venture Capital has invested in Momentum Dynamics – a company which provides wireless charging technology for commercial electric, connected and autonomous vehicles (C/AVs). 609 Volvo Group Venture Capital has invested in 8880 Momentum Dynamics – a company which provides wireless charging technology for commercial electric, connected and autonomous vehicles (C/AVs).


Per Adamsson, vice president at the Volvo subsidiary, says: “High capacity charging up to 300 kW for trucks, buses, construction equipment, industrial and marine applications will support the electrified transition.”

Wireless electric charging is expected to allow any vehicle to automatically connect to the electrical power grid without supervision or use of wires or cables.

Volvo Group Venture Capital invests in companies which support Volvo’s business in areas such as electromobility and C/AVs.

In July 2018, Momentum deployed its 200 kW wireless charging system to allow the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority’s %$Linker: 2 External <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><dictionary /> 0 0 0 link-external electric transit buses false http://www.itsinternational.com/sections/general/news/momentum-deploys-200-kw-wireless-charging-system-for-carta-buses/ false false%> to travel longer distances in Tennessee, US.
