69 International Road Dynamics’ (IRD) SAW III portable wheel load weigher is now available for dynamic weighing and its software enables users to efficiently pre-select overloaded trucks.

Two IRD SAW scales are paired and connected to a PC via Bluetooth in order that the vehicle wheel/axle weight is displayed on a screen. For weight enforcement with the highest accuracy, the system can be switched to static operation mode with computer-based processing providing reporting, ticket printing and ticket archiving.

The system enables high vehicle throughput, especially when using two sets of IRD SAW scales (one set in dynamic mode for pre-selection and the other in static mode for weight enforcement).

Suitable for twin tyre weighing, the low profile unit is designed to meet OIML R134 and is said to be lightweight, rugged and corrosion resistant.

Sick has launched a vehicle measurement system which it says enables accurate 3D profiling of vehicles across multiple lanes in free-flow traffic. The Free Flow Profiler is an all-weather system suitable for vehicle tolling and classification uses, especially in operations such as optimal weight loading of ferries or trains and for verifying vehicle dimensions to maximise revenue recovery, the company adds. During multi-lane, free road movement, Sick’s 2D Lidar sensors scan traffic and measure vehicle l

Intercomp weigh-in-motion (WIM) scale systems have been installed for use in the lanes at the West Basin Container Terminal (WBCT) within the Port in Long Beach, California, to automate the weighing process and replacing the older static truck scales. Intercomp’s LS-WIM weigh-in-motion systems feature industry-leading strain gauge load cell technology, the same type used in static truck scales for increased accuracy, repeatability and fast response times. The small footprint of the scales compared to
