Q-Free wins US parking contracts

Tolling specialist Q-Free has signed multiple contracts with an unnamed customer in the US. The company says it will therefore reduce pollution caused by drivers searching for parking spaces. Tolling specialist 108 Q-Free has signed multiple contracts with an unnamed customer in the US. The company says it will therefore reduce pollution caused by drivers searching for parking spaces.

The 29 million NOK (£2.5m) contract includes the delivery of ultra-sonic single space sensors, intelligent signage, a suite of statistical reports and an application programming interface tool to show real-time parking availability.

Håkon Volldal, Q-Free’s president and CEO, says: “This contract is a substantial contribution to Q-Free’s parking business and ensures high double-digit growth in this segment in 2019.”

    French Highway company and tag issuer Vinci Autoroutes has placed extension orders for Q-Free tags valued 25 MNOK. The additional volumes follow a frame agreement made in December 2016. Håkon Volldal, chief executive officer of Q-Free, said: “These extension orders confirm the high technical performance of Q-Free’s tags and our ability to supply significant volumes on short notice.     Q-Free wins three-year tag contract in Australia
    Q-Free has won a contract, valued $3.8m (£2.1m), to supply tags to an Australian road operator over a three-year period. Interlink Roads manages and develops the M5 South-West Motorway and the E-way tolling business. Silje Troseth, general manager Australia, said: “We are very pleased to continue our relationship with Interlink Roads and ensure supply of Q-Free’s high performing tags in Australia.”

    Q-Free is to provide its automatic number plate recognition service to five unnamed regional tolling companies in Norway – in a deal valued 26 million NOK (£2.3m).
