Sensys Networks lands $8.5 million in funding

Sensys Networks, a leading provider of integrated wireless traffic data systems for smart cities, has raised US$8.5 million in a new round of funding led by Siemens Venture Capital (SVC) with participation from existing investors Fuse Capital, Horizon Ventures, Voyager Capital and Gruener Ventures. ISS Europe appoints CEO

Image Sensing Systems (ISS) has announced that Richard Wenham has been appointed as the CEO of the company’s subsidiary Image Sensing Systems Europe, headquartered in the United Kingdom. Wenham, who will report to Ken Aubrey, company president and CEO, joins the company from Ricardo, where he was director of Intelligent Transportation Systems and Hybrid Electric Vehicles. His experience includes over 20 years of both engineering and senior management experience in embedded systems, automotive and ITS.

Flow Traffic Limited, the Hong Kong-based wholly owned subsidiary of Image Sensing Systems, has won a large contract to supply vehicle detection systems to the city of Guangzhou, China. The contract is part of infrastructure improvements required for the Asian Games, a major sporting event to be held in Guangzhou from 12-27 November. The project will provide real time traffic guidance and journey time information to reduce congestion and travel time during the international event.
