Parking technology specialist APT SkiData has won a significant new contract with Edinburgh Airport to replace the existing car parking technology infrastructure to manage and control the parking of more than 4,500 vehicles. The new system will make maximum use of the latest automatic number plate recognition and RFID technologies for speed and ease of access for visitors without sacrificing control.

Community committees from eight local areas in the UK town of Salford have deployed 3M Driver Feedback Signs (DFS) to gather information on average vehicle speeds and encourage drivers to observe the speed limits. Bosch Security Systems has introduced Dinion capture for consistent, high-quality images of vehicle license plates at speeds up to 225 kilometers (140 miles) per hour. Using advanced optics, the company claims it obtains clear, legible plate images up to nearly 30 metres away even in dark conditions, enabling accurate vehicle identification.
