Swarco launches new VMS

Swarco Traffic is to launch two new products at Road Expo Scotland next month: a new, full colour variable message sign (VMS); and the Smart City Messenger, a new generation of mobile VMS with built-in UTMC connectivity to afford local authorities the same level of management and control as their fixed installations. Allied Vision's new Manta cameras with Sony Pregius sensors

Allied Vision has added two camera models featuring Sony’s new PregiusTM CMOS sensors to its Manta GigE camera portfolio. The global shutter sensors have a high saturation capacity and very low noise resulting in an excellent dynamic range. Available in both mono and colour options, the Manta G-319 is powered by the 3.1megapixel Sony IMX265 sensor while the Manta G-507 utilises the 5megapixel IMX264 sensor.
Flir Systems to acquire Point Grey Research

US-based Flir Systems is to acquire the business of machine vision camera developer Point Grey Research in a deal which Flir believes will augment its existing OEM cores and components business by adding a broad range of visible spectrum machine vision cameras and solutions. In addition, Flir’s thermal sensor technology will extend Point Grey’s product range into new applications. The business will become Flir’s Integrated Imaging Solutions line of business operating within the OEM and Emerging segment.

Flir Systems is taking advantage of the Innotrans 2016 exhibition in Berlin, Germany, 20-23 September, to launch the Flir RSX-F intelligent sensor for advanced fire detection inside rail coaches.
