Here Technologies: location data sharing needs fundamental rethink
76% of 8,000 individuals surveyed across eight countries feel stressed or vulnerable about sharing their location data, according to a new study by Here Technologies (Here). Transatel to supply secure connection for FCA on board unit
Transatel will provide mobile network services for Fiat Chrysler Automobile’s (FCA’s) on-board telematics units, Mopar Connect, in the European Union region following a competitive tender. These units will offer apps and services including fleet management, remote control, predictive maintenance, crash assistance and stolen vehicle tracking. Norway uses connected cars to increase safety on wintry roads
Norwegian road authority Norska Statens Vegvesen (NSV) is deploying Klimator and Nira Dynamics’ Road Status Information (RSI) software in connected cars to determine and transmit road grip conditions in real-time with the intention of increasing safety on wintry roads. Kistler to showcase WIM solutions at Intertraffic in Amsterdam

Inrix: Congestion cost UK motorists over £37bn in 2017
The UK is the third most congested country in Europe and the tenth most congested country in the world where costs amounted to more than £37.7bn ($52.2bn) for all drivers in 2017, an average of £1,168 ($2,233) per person. Sony releases 7.4 megapixel stacked CMOS
Sony has launched a new 1/1.7-type stacked Cmos image sensor with a 7.42 (effective) megapixel RCCC filter for forward sensing cameras in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
