A new English-language web portal, www.French-rail-industry.com has been launched to promote France’s railways expertise to potential customers.
The web portal aims to raise awareness among industry professionals worldwide of the know-how prevalent in France’s railway sector with sections devoted to the latest international company news and events such as Innotrans, which will take place in Berlin from 23 to 26 September 2014.

Traficon has launched the commercial version of SafeWalk, a product it has been researching and developing for some time. SafeWalk combines stereovision technology with intelligent image processing technology. By using two CMOS cameras in parallel, SafeWalk converts twodimensional images into threedimensional information.
Fujinon has introduced two newly developed, 2/3" sensor size 5 Megapixel lenses for day/night applications: the HF35SR4A-1/SA1, with a focal length of f=35mm and F2, and the HF50SR4A-1/SA1, offering f=50mm and F2.8. Iris control can be either manual or automatic, by DC signal. Due to the combination of high resolution and IR correction, the company says these lenses are ideally suited for CCTV and security as well as for traffic applications, such as automatic number plate recognition.
Sicore is the new-generation ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) camera system designed by Siemens Mobility to read number plates automatically. The company says Sicore caters for a wide range of applications in parking space monitoring and security, vehicle speed and journey time measurement, as well as toll collection.
