Canada-based Skymeter Corporation has won the overall 2010 Intertraffic Innovation Award. The company succeeded with its smart road-use device which it has designed to handle a wide range of automotive mobility-related payment needs, including road user charging, parking fees, insurance and carbon metering, as well as reward schemes to encourage differential driving times, carpooling or teleworking.
Parking and payment solutions provider Parkeon has launched its mobile phone parking payment service Whoosh! The solution has recently gone live in an off-street scheme for parking operator, Horizon Parking, in Glasgow. Within the staff car parks, which need to accommodate 34,000 employees and currently use multiple parking systems, APT SkiData is installing its Column.Lite entrance systems at entry lanes, equipping them with radio frequency identification devices (RFID)
