OPTIPARK® Wayfinding integrates real-time data from any parking access and revenue control system (PARCS) provider, parking operator, valet system or parking guidance system via one central software platform. This parking information can be displayed on McCain’s vibrant large full-colour Variable Messaging Signs (VMS). Utilising OPTIPARK central software, parking facility operators can remotely monitor VMS, detectors and car park information from one central system. The easy-to-use interface and accessibility via a web browser make OPTIPARK a simple and effective way to manage traffic. As with other McCain solutions, OPTIPARK is scalable and can operate independently or be fully integrated into a community-wide traffic system.

    Swarco installs dynamic parking guidance system in German city
    Swarco has installed a new dynamic parking guidance system in the city of Bergisch-Gladbach, Germany, in an effort to achieve a more efficient usage of the existing parking facilities in the city. Eight parking lots are integrated into the system, which features an open parking capability to detect vehicles entering and leaving cars via video technology. The system also includes 29 LCD variable message signs (VMS), five of which feature two-line information displays to display local event information.

    Caltrans develops remote remedy for ailing VMS
    A remote diagnostic system for variable message signs keeps Caltrans staff safer and makes them more efficient. District 12 of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) maintains roads in Orange County including 292 route miles of freeway lanes and 240 directional miles of full-time high occupancy vehicle or carpool lanes. All of these lanes are controlled from the district’s transportation management centre (TMC) using a network of 58 variable message signs (VMS) positioned alongside or abo
