Navmii, a publisher of navigation and location apps, has launched its new community-based navigation product, NavFree, a free, fully functioning GPS/satellite navigation app for iPhone and iPad. Currently available for the UK & Republic of Ireland from the iTunes store, the company says it will quickly be rolled out across Europe and the USA. A version of Navfree for Android will also be released shortly.
Q-Free is to acquire Serbian traffic management company Elcom in a deal worth US$1.8 million. Q-Free has signed a share purchase agreement (SPA) for the acquisition which it says reflects the company’s efforts to strengthen its business area within advanced transportation management systems (ATMS) and follows a US$1 million investment in ten percent ownership of US traffic management company Intelight.

The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) has extended its contract with Q-Free for the servicing and maintenance of the congestion charging infrastructure in Stockholm.
