Trafficware Group will be riding the crest of a wave of success at the ITS America 2016 San Jose event. For instance, just a few weeks ago, Houston, Texas, awarded the company a contract to upgrade the city’s central traffic management system. The project also includes converting all 2,500 intersections from older technology to Trafficware’s Patriot V76 traffic control software and upgrading to its transportation management platform, ATMS.now both of which will feature on the company’s booth in San Jose.
The Living Lab Bus joint project, coordinated VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and launched at the beginning of 2016, is using Finnish electric buses acquired by Helsinki Region Transport as tangible development and testing platforms for businesses to validate their solutions in a real use environment. The buses can be used for testing user-oriented smart services and technologies, ranging from user interfaces and passenger services to sensors and transport operators’ solutions.

With two events in one month, Intertraffic is introducing a number of new initiatives during Intertraffic China and Intertraffic Istanbul. Intertraffic China takes place from 4-6 May in Shanghai followed by Intertraffic Istanbul from 24-26 May at the Istanbul Expo Center. Flir Systems is using Intertraffic to launch the Flir TrafiOne Smart City Sensor, an all-round detection sensor for traffic monitoring and dynamic traffic signal control. Offered in a compact and easy-to-install package, the device uses thermal imaging and Wi-Fi tracking technology to provide traffic engineers with high-resolution data on vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians at intersections and in urban environments.
