Parking solutions provider Parkeon has joined forces with Waysis, whose Yellowbrick solution is one of the world leaders in mobile parking payment (MPP), to create MPP operation Yellowbrick International. Parkeon’s MPP solution, Whoosh!, has already been adopted by more than 40 cities in France, the UK and the USA.
Swiss firm ABB has developed technology that it says can charge a full-sized electric bus during ordinary stops, removing the need for overhead lines in major cities. According to ABB, the bus can be charged with a fifteen-second, 400 kilowatt boost at selected stops, which allows for the vehicle to top off its charge while the passengers are loading or leaving the bus, and a three to four minute charge at the end of the bus line will then fully recharge the batteries.
Kapsch TrafficCom will appear at the 23rd ITS America Annual Meeting with an important recent validation of the versatility of its 5.9 GHz DSRC multi-modal, integrated and interoperable technologies. Earlier this month, the company announced it had been selected by HNTB and the Michigan DOT (MDOT) to deliver a Truck Parking Connected-Vehicle System at five sites along the I-94 corridor in Michigan.
