Vrain V2V connectivity on show at World Congress

7863 Applus Idiada, a technical centre and accredited 6437 Euro NCAP laboratory, will use the 2015 ITS World Congress to present the Vrain project, a multi-disciplinary, strategic initiative that will deploy a framework to enable full vehicle connectivity at the Applus Idiada proving ground. Among other subprojects, Vrain has designed a V2V-GNSS-based collision warning system and implemented a nomadic OBU functional prototype that will enhance the safety of field tests and the active management of the company’s proving ground. The project has also implemented a set of tools to aid in the development and validation of this type of safety system to support client needs.

Applus Idiada will also present its capabilities and expertise in the field of ADAS assessment and validation towards automated driving. Visitors will also have the opportunity to visit the Volar-e, a 1080 HP fully-electric race car designed by Applus Idiada engineers, with state-of-the-art functionalities, such us 802.11p connectivity.

    The results of a four-year study by the Field Operational Tests of Aftermarket and Nomadic devices in Vehicles (TeleFOT) Consortium were presented at a recent conference in Brussels.
