BYD Canada will deliver ten 40-foot, electric buses to support the Toronto Transit Commission’s (TTC’s) commitment to establishing a zero-emission fleet by 2040.
According to BYD, TCC intends to purchase only emission-free buses from 2025.
Ted Dowling, BYD Canada’s vice president, says: “These first ten buses alone will mean a carbon reduction of 700 Metric tons every year.”
Mobike says it has suspended its bike-sharing service in the UK city of Manchester following an increase in bike losses from theft and vandalism. The company is in the process of refunding riders and is advising them to check their bank statements. According to Mobike, the service began operating in Manchester in July 2017, with citizens taking 250,000 trips across over 180,000 miles. It operates in other UK cities such as London, Newcastle, Oxford and Cambridge. Mobike also has operations in Paris, Berlin
Urban transportation specialist Tern says its GSD utility ebike will help Deliveroo riders deliver meals faster to customers. The bike's 200km range is intended to allow the UK delivery service company to expand its radius. Deliveroo says riders will be able to short-cut city traffic and parking issues, the company says. Tern GSD can carry up to 400 lb of cargo and features a specially-designed frame and a Bosch-powered electric drive system.
