  • Navya to operate AVs on open roads in Japan

    Navya has received approval from the Japanese government to operate autonomous vehicles (AVs) on open roads. The company is demonstrating its Autonom shuttles in Minato Ward, the business and diplomatic district of Tokyo, until 5 July. Navya received approval to carry out the demonstration following an agreement with SB Drive, a subsidiary of SoftBank, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. A safety driver will remain on board to and intervene in the event of an emergency.

The largest and oldest manufacturer of ticket vending machines in Poland, KZL is launching a mobile ticket vending machine together with a new ticket sales system for urban transport. The company has also unveiled the Locomat P700s+ parking meter, as well as a new LED display which have been added to its ITS systems range.
  • Q-Free wins three-year tag contract in Australia

    Q-Free has won a contract, valued $3.8m (£2.1m), to supply tags to an Australian road operator over a three-year period. Interlink Roads manages and develops the M5 South-West Motorway and the E-way tolling business. Silje Troseth, general manager Australia, said: “We are very pleased to continue our relationship with Interlink Roads and ensure supply of Q-Free’s high performing tags in Australia.”

    Chevron Traffic Management (Chevron TM) is Triton’s third acquisition within the European work zone safety Services market and follows its acquisitions of Ramudden in Sweden in December 2017 and AVS in Germany in January. Catalyst Corporate Finance (Catalyst), the UK M&A advisory business of Atlantra, advised Chevron TM advise on its sale.
