Leeds City Council has received a new mobile enforcement vehicle from Videalert to target key areas where non-compliant drivers cause congestion or safety issues. It will also provide unattended enforcement of offences such as parking on city centre bus stops and school keep clear markings. Videalert’s system automates the construction of video evidence packs which are reviewed by council operatives prior to sending confirmed offences to the back-office processing system for the issuance of penalty charge
Chile-based Yerka Bikes has launched an anti-theft bicycle which comes with an integrated lock in its structure. The company says the frame and seat post can become a hermetic lock that can adapt to any structure in seconds.
In addition, the bicycle’s wheels provide anti-theft nuts to boost the vehicle's security.

Highways England has awarded a £115 million ($152 million) asset support contract extension of 17 months to Balfour Beatty and Mott MacDonald to continue its service delivery for Area 10; covering Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire and Greater Manchester. The contract will run from November 2017 to March 2019. The current asset support contract delivers a range of service delivery and maintenance activities such as 24/7 incident response, to ensuring the safe operation of the 570km of the road network.
A consortium led by Spanish engineering firm CAF and comprising partners Construcciones Ferrovías y Subsistemas, Thales, Corsan-Corvian Construcción, Isolux and Construcciones Urales has been awarded the US$993 million contract for the Mexico City-Toluca railway.
The contract involves the provision of electric trains, rail and communication infrastructure, ticketing facilities and associated services.
