Lyft is launching a Green Mode feature within its app to provide riders in Seattle with the option to travel in an electric or hybrid vehicle.
The move follows the company’s planned introduction of thousands of electric vehicles (EVs) onto its platform this year.
Lyft says the deployment will allow its drivers to increase net earnings as it says the cost of travelling in an EV is half that of a petrol-powered car, therefore saving hundreds of dollars per month on fuel costs.

Island Roads has replaced around 40 parking terminals with solar-powered systems from Flowbird Urban Intelligence at a variety of locations across the Isle of Wight, off the south coast of the UK.
Island Roads is responsible for the island’s highways network and associated services and selected the Flowbird Strada Rapide terminals in a bidding process.

Kuldeep Nothey has been appointed service delivery director for RATP Dev London from 2 July. Nothey will lead operational delivery across three of the company’s businesses: London United, London Sovereign and Quality Line.
He replaces operations director Maurice Bulmer and will report to Dev London's managing director Fiona Taylor.
