Star Systems International (SSI) has upgraded the performance of its Titan and Tarvos multi-protocol readers for high-speed tolling applications.

SSI says its newly released Version 2.0 Firmware increases the function, speed and performance across all protocol platforms for the Titan and Tarvos.

Thiago Borda, SSI senior engineering manager, says: “Titan and Tarvos are built from the ground up to be multi-protocol / high-speed readers for tolling applications. With their unique and smart 'Cognitive Radio' features, Titan and Tarvos will continue to be the world leaders in reader performance for years to come.”

Tarvos is designed for high-demand vehicle identification and tolling applications, with the ability to simultaneously run multi-protocol applications.

In 2019, SSI’s Titan reader was certified for high speed tolling and interoperability by the OmniAir Consortium.

Star systems chief business officer Udi Delgoshen says: "We are very happy to announce the next generation feature-rich firmware with our world-class Titan and Tarvos Readers. Our constant effort to improve drives us to make sure we are always enhancing our customers’ experience”.

Elsewhere in the business, SSI recently introduced an antenna for smart city initiatives such as congestion pricing, road usage charging and traffic monitoring using passive radio frequency transponders.
