Savari makes waves with its next-generation StreetWAVE units

Savari says that it is making roads smarter and safer with its next-generation StreetWAVE roadside units (RSUs). Savari, a pioneer of V2X ADAS - advanced driver assistance systems - using DSRC, has now delivered cellular/LTE V2X solutions to enable communication between vehicles, infrastructure and pedestrians with mobile devices. The result is enhanced safety for next-generation transportation initiatives such as autonomous and semi-autonomous driving vehicles.

Savari solutions capture and analyse data in realtime, giving a more complete and accurate picture of driving conditions to ADAS systems.

Savari’s software and systems and more than 50 V2X applications are used in over a dozen V2X Smart Cities globally.

The Best of ITS Awards were announced in three categories Sunday evening as a result of live voting by attendees. There were 17 finalists and only one winner in each category. Savari won in the Wheels and Things category for its Vehicle-to-Phone (V2P) safety and mobility applications that make pedestrians and bicyclists active participants in the V2X landscape, especially in a Smart City scenario. Pedestrians and bicyclists are connected to vehicles and traffic lights through their smartphones, with or w

    March 14, 2012
Field trials under way in Arizona promise eradication of accidents between emergency vehicles at intersections – as part of a national focus on ‘intelligent signal’ infrastructure. Collisions between police cars, ambulances and fire crews as they reach intersections at the same time, with equal priority given by all signals set on red, are as serious as they sound absurd. For emergency teams and those in need of their help, the consequences are dire. The solution could come from application of connected veh

    December 23, 2015
For ITS to gain the recognition it deserves, Q-Free’s Knut Evensen argues that the sector must have a coherent message and avoid confusing the wider community with a bewildering array of terms and acronyms. Any industry or group of people will develop its own lexicon over time. The process is near-inevitable, as individuals’ knowledge bases increase and evolve, and terms for common wisdom are created and become truncated, or even slang. A danger, though, as a relatively small group looks to admit large numb
