8387 Reflective Measurement Systems is showcasing the latest addition to the company’s range of dynamic retroreflectometers, the RetroTek-MU.

The MU is specifically for the US market and is similar to the best-selling RetroTek-M retroreflectometer that is available worldwide excluding the US.

The RetroTek-MU is the first dynamic mobile retroreflectometer to be certified to ASTM E 1710, according to the Irish manufacturer. It is capable of simultaneously measuring in one pass the retroreflectivity of road markings and striping across the full width of a traffic lane.

The RetroTek-MU has the capability to measure the night visibility - RL - of road lines and striping on the right and left, including the lane markings (symbols) in the centre of a lane.

It also collects performance data on the absence and presence of road studs and markers. While travelling at 120kp/h on a seven-hour shift, it can measure 840km of road lanes - left, right lines and centre markings, said Joe Turley, chief executive of RMS.
