A recent development is the arrival in the North American market of its Weigh-in- Motion (WIM), traffic classification, cycle and pedestrian monitoring solutions.

The company is an established supplier of both high- and low-speed WIM to markets around the world and its solutions have been tested at Florida DoT’s research facility in Tallahassee. Over the past year, Q-Free’s piezo, loop and quartz-based WIM systems have been under testing and, according to the company, have gained a good reputation for their ease of installation and accuracy in operation. Q-Free has also provided FDoT with solutions designed to aid operations and improve safety in a multimodal traffic environment including its piezo-based bicycle detection and counting solutions as well as integrated infra-red side-fire/aboveground pedestrian detection systems.
