Antaira expands ethernet switch range

7906 Antaira Technologies has expanded its industrial networking infrastructure family with the LMX-1002C-SFP series, an industrial gigabit managed Ethernet switch series has been designed fulfill industrial automation applications in harsh or outdoor environments, including intelligent transportation systems, roadway traffic control or monitoring, security surveillance and access control systems.

The cost effective 10-port industrial gigabit managed Ethernet switch supports a 12~48VDC power input range. Each unit is designed with eight 10/100Tx fast Ethernet RJ45 ports and two gigabit combo ports which provide flexibility for a network uplink with the ability to use 100Mb, Gigabit fast Ethernet or fibre-optics.  The devices provide high EFT, surge protection and are built to have a dual power input design with a reverse polarity protection. The LMX-1002C-SFP series also includes a built-in relay warning function to alert users in the event of broken ports or power failures.

Antaira Technologies’ marketing engineer Brian Roth explains why the increasing capacity of wireless bridges is reducing the cost of expanding and upgrading ITS networks. With more than half of the world’s population now living in cities, the need for efficient transportation of both people and goods has never been greater and that pressure is unlikely to ease any time soon. Indeed in many regions of the world the rate of urbanisation is still increasing as the demand for rural workers continues to decline.

For many, Ethernet- and IP-based networks are the cast-iron solution to ITS's communications needs. However, there remain issues from manufacturer to manufacturer with interpretation of what are supposed to be common standards The 'promise' of Ethernet was that different devices such as IP video cameras and traffic signals could be easily integrated into communications networks, simplifying the process of transporting data over copper, fibre or wirelessly. However, although Ethernet devices have come to pre
