Designed to fulfil special needs within industrial automation, outdoor applications and extreme weather environments, 7906 Antaira Technologies’ new unmanaged PoE+ LNP-0702C-SFP and LNP-0702C-SFP-24 series of seven-port industrial PoE+ gigabit unmanaged Ethernet switches feature 48~55VDC high voltage power input (LNP-0702C-SFP) and 12~36VDC low voltage power input (LNP-0702C-SFP-24). Each unit is designed with five 10/100Tx ports, four of which support IEEE 802.3at high power PoE (30W/port) and two dual rate 100/1000Fx SFP slots.

These compact, fanless units are DIN-Rail/wall mountable and provide a high EFT, surge, ESD and reverse polarity protection to prevent any unregulated voltage and can support the power redundancy feature using a dual power input design. There is also a built-in relay warning function to alert maintainers when power failures occur. Each unit is built to withstand industrial networking hazards like shock, drop, vibration, electromagnetic interference (EMI).

New solutions are being used to improve the management and safety of work zones on roads both big and small, as Jon Masters discovers. The UK government has recently been going to some lengths to paint a picture of a nation embracing a future of digital technology – understandably given the economic concerns arising from exiting the European Union. In December last year, however, the UK National Infrastructure Commission (NIC) put down a somewhat different marker for where the UK is now in terms of mobile c

Addressing the concerns of its ITS customers, EtherWAN has developed a shallower managed 10GB switch that fits better in the narrow traffic cabinets that are typical at intersections around the world. “Our competitors are more focused on the IT market, but we wanted to give our ITS customers a switch that works for their needs,” said Jim Toepper, director of products and marketing for EtherWAN.

The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech has introduced two new signal conditioning modules, the ADAM-3112 and ADAM-3114. The 3112 is an isolated AC voltage to DC voltage module while the 3114 is an isolated AC current to DC voltage module. Both devices can convert up to 400V AC or 5A AC signals to 0~5V DC signals for data acquisition cards to measure while reducing the harmful effects of ground loops, field noise and electrical interference. These modules are suitable for DIN rail mounting, designed for

Electrification of the automobile is not limited to the electric vehicles (EVs). As a new report from Frost & Sullivan points out, conventional cars of today are partly electric in their own way, with most systems in the vehicle having electrical and electronic connections for better functionality. Certain high-end vehicles possess more than 90 electronic control units (ECUs) to control the various modules within the car, making the car both sophisticated and complicated. However, added functions such as el
