Chinese vision specialist Milesight is launching a new series of cameras for applications including traffic management.

Milesight G2 (Generation 2) is powered by what the manufacturer calls "a next-generation AI chip and cutting-edge technologies".

“The G2 Series represents a significant upgrade, with highly precise positioning to meet a broader range of needs," says Tony Zhang, PMM director at Milesight.

In 2025, Milesight says its intelligent traffic products will be enhanced with new applications, including mobile on-board security and enriched traffic violation detection.

It will introduce more accurate ANPR with its PlateXpert technology, which Milesight says will elevate enforcement capabilities with a range of up to 180m and speeds up to 250 km/h.

Its TrafficX series also features dual-sensor, single-sensor and radar cameras for comprehensive traffic monitoring, including phone and seatbelt detection.

Milesight is also launching Mobile ANPR On-the-Go - ANPR on a vehicle to maximise detection and ensure accurate number plate data collection. The firm says it provides a versatile solution for enforcement, tolling and school bus security, with a 99% capture rate and precise ANPR at speeds of up to 180 km/h.

Meanwhile, Milesight OpenVision is designed to integrate third-party technologies seamlessly into Milesight cameras - including VMS-embedded cameras, algorithm integration, and server embedding.

Finally, the manufacturer is bringing out One API, a unified application programming interface for all models, enabling seamless integration and efficient compatibility with third-party platforms, it insists.

Milesight will be hosting a series of live webinars in February and March 2025, offering an in-depth look at the G2 series.

Truvelo UK’s D-CAM digital speed and red light enforcement camera has now gained UK Home Office Type Approval. The camera has been approved for both front and rear photography which, together with choices for the positioning of road markings for secondary speed checks, dramatically increases siting flexibility, as well for as speed on green enforcement. A patented solution which forms a part of the Home Office type approval is the ability to monitor signal phases on newer-generation LED traffic lights.
