ITS and traffic management solutions, all developed by the one-stop shop Swarco, are centred around the open Omnia platform on stand 10.103. Major highlights will be the latest traffic controller technology, brilliant LED traffic lights, a new dimension of variable message signs with TV-like display and minimal total cost of ownership, and the Swarco competence in parking guidance systems and software solutions. Stand illumination will be implemented with energy-efficient Futurlux LED street lights, while a cyclemeter will underline the importance of bicycle traffic in modern cities.

At Intertraffic, the company will premiere the new generation motorway signalling system conforming to the Dutch and Swedish specification of 4767 Rijkswaterstaat labelled WKS 1.3. In this new set-up, remote monitoring of the operational outstations, configuration and maintenance are supported, resulting in reduced maintenance costs and increased availability of the signalling system that also supports cooperative system solutions. Additionally, the forthcoming Swarco Traffic World at the company’s headquarters in Wattens, Austria, will be promoted.

The stand in hall 4 will highlight Swarco’s competence in reflective glass beads, road marking systems and static traffic signage. The company will not only display large signage solutions but also an LED sign to optimally illuminate zebra-crossings. Also being featured are special glass bead compositions for road, airfield and tunnel applications and particular focus will be given to the innovative Solisplus beads which perform excellently in long-term test decks in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. The Group’s large portfolio in road marking systems will be shown, including preformed materials, markings with particularly high skid resistance, rumble strips, bicolour zebra-crossing stripes and special afterglow systems for indoor orientation in case of emergency. Coateq, Swarco’s Dutch representative for road marking systems, will also be present on the stand in hall 4.
