Australian company 7657 Saferoads will use Intertraffic Amsterdam 2014 to release what it says are unique products to the European and American market – the Ironman Hybrid portable safety barrier system, the Omni Stop energy absorbing bollard, and the Safepole impact absorbing light pole.

Standout feature of the Ironman Hybrid is that it is a ballasted portable steel barrier, tested to 100km/h, that requires no anchoring. Saferoads says it delivers the deflection performance of concrete with the durability and portability of steel. 100 metres of barrier, which has been tested to NCHRP350 TL-3, can be transported at a time with each containing jockey wheels to deploy for additional manoeuvrability. If impacted, the barrier can be repaired, providing a life cycle of over 15 years.

Saferoads says its Omni Stop Bollard and energy absorbing cartridge system has been crash tested by a 1600kg vehicle travelling at 60km/h. The impacting vehicle is captured at a safe deceleration rate for the driver, with the vehicle unable to penetrate into pedestrian areas. Widely used in Australia to protect roadside diners enjoying alfresco eating and pedestrians at bus and tram stops, the Omni Stop Bollards prevent the possibility of death or serious injury from the impact of an errant vehicle.

The Australian designed SafePole, an impact absorbing light pole, collapses and allows drivers and passengers to walk away from what could be a fatal accident. It also remains anchored and captures the vehicle which prevents further road trauma caused by cars ricocheting from a fixed post impact or from poles detaching from their slip bases.

    Intelligent parking barrier
The Barrier.Gate, an intelligent barrier system from Skidata, is an inexpensive solution for long-term parking facilities because it combines column and barrier in one product. Less consumption of energy and space are among its sustainable benefits. The barrier communicates via light signals of the integrated track light, while the built-in camera helps to prevent vandalism and unauthorised entry through a closing barrier.
