Laser Technology Australia celebrates success in Melbourne

The innovative LTI TruSense traffic sensors from Laser Technology Australia are now proving their worth at a test site in Melbourne. The innovative LTI TruSense traffic sensors from 1777 Laser Technology Australia are now proving their worth at a test site in Melbourne. Five of the dual traffic laser systems have been installed on a gantry over the M80 Ring Road in Melbourne, scanning the vehicle flow in each lane.

These TruSense T-Series scanners are able to record data on vehicle speed, dimensions and occupancy in real time. The non-intrusive scanners are said to be highly accurate and reliable and produce the rapid pulse rates and measurements required for the calculations carried out by 4728 VicRoads to determine occupancy.

The trial is being carried out over a number of years and other sensor systems will be benchmarked against the TruSense T-Series technology. A live feed of sensor data into the VicRoads Traffic Management System is planned, with live video feed on the firm’s stand at Intertraffic.
