To meet all requirements of Industry 4.0, the systems have highly efficient integrated multicore industrial PC (iPC) to process applications, filter algorithms for data mining and business events directly on the device.

The RRU 4000 series includes a flexible multiplexer to connect up to four external antennas.

The ARU 3000 series includes an integrated 65°wide-range antenna and the powerful reader unit in one housing. Three additional external antennas can be connected as well.

Meanwhile, Kathrein said it will collaborate globally with 7671 Tönnjes E.A.S.T., a German car registration plate manufacturer, on electronic vehicle identification (EVI) products.

“Our collaboration includes implementing infrastructure on motorways and in cities, as well as establishing and operating central database solutions for authorities and providers of explains Thomas Brunner, head RFID within Kathrein Group.

The joint portfolio includes new products from both companies. The RRU 4500, Kathrein’s latest generation of RFID reader, has a read range of up to 20m and enables the reliable identification of vehicles in freely moving motorway traffic up to a maximum speed of 250kph.
