Hall 9 becomes the Innovation Hall during Intertraffic Amsterdam 2016. It will be a hub: a gathering point for the latest products, services, trends and developments in the field of smart, personal, safe and sustainable mobility.

Numerous stands, a large theatre in the Innovation Hall, and the outdoor area by the entrance to Intertraffic will feature a variety of presentations and demonstrations, with a clear focus on the theme ‘connectivity’. Connectivity is crucial in order to realise mobility goals such as efficient routing and traffic information, customised mobility, and sustainable and safe environments for residents. In addition, the stands, demonstrations and presentations will also focus on travel behaviour, the interaction between technology and its users, new technological solutions and an integrated approach between a wide range of disciplines.

Visitors will be able to see and try out the latest travel apps, navigation systems, vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication systems, in-car safety and in-car information systems and much, much more.
And if you are you looking for a specific mobility solution, then stop by at the Information Centre first which will not only give you an overview of Dutch Smart Mobility activities, but will also steer you in the right direction on where to find the solution you are looking for.

Smart Mobility Centre

The Smart Mobility Centre within the Innovation Hall will feature the latest products and services, mobility projects and trends and developments related to smart, safe and sustainable mobility. It will incorporate the Smart Mobility Theatre which will stage a diverse programme of informative and thought-provoking presentations that will cover themes such as ITS Developments, Automated & Cooperative Driving, Mobility Services, Data Analytics, Traffic and Transport Efficiency.

Presentations will focus on four mobility goals: Traffic & Transport Efficiency; Customised Mobility; Ecomobility; and Safety. A common thread running through all presentations will be connectivity.

The stands, demonstrations and presentations in the Smart Mobility Centre will have a strong focus on interaction between technology and its users and an integral approach from a diversity of disciplines

Go Dutch

Also in the Smart Mobility Centre, Dutch public and private parties and knowledge institutes have joined forces in staging ITS solutions for inner cities, urban areas and the main road network. It is a reflection of the ambition of the Netherlands to lead the field in the area of cooperative ITS and smart mobility.

In the Dutch Pavilion, various examples will be demonstrated by a mixture of public and private parties such as the Metropolitan Region of Amsterdam, 8352 Connecting Mobility, 6784 Connekt/ITS Netherlands with members, Beter Benutten (Optimising Use) programme together with regional programmes as well as solution vendors. The Dutch presence in the Innovation Hall will be joined by international companies and organisations such as TomTom, ARS T&TT, Rutoll, and the Cooperative ITS Corridor. There will also be a comprehensive Friday programme that is especially focused on Dutch national, regional and local road operators.

InnovationLAB
Innovation is at the core of Intertraffic Amsterdam and is cited as the number one reason why people visit the event. It began to grow in importance when the Intertraffic Innovation Awards were first introduced in 2002 to encourage R&D and this key aspect has evolved ever since to this year’s Innovation Hall and another new feature – the InnovationLAB.

With the introduction of the InnovationLAB, Intertraffic Amsterdam offers a central stage for all innovations at the trade show. It includes a stage for the latest game-changing innovations in the field of mobility, of trendsetters for the next generation of product development. It will host seminars, workshops, debates, presentations and demonstrations, not just from the 15 Intertraffic Innovation Award winners and nominees, but from other participants with breakthroughs that genuinely fit the innovation criteria. The InnovationLAB will also provide an incubator area for students and young professionals of the Urban Data Hackathon organised by AMS-Institute, DiTTLAb, NDW and CGI, and feature a Start-up Area with a variety of mobility solutions presented by start-ups sponsored by Dow Science & Sustainability. There will also be a Fun & Experience Area with mobility games, virtual reality and driver simulations.

On Stage

The InnovationLAB On Stage, the open podium part of the InnovationLAB, features an open audience seating area where visitors can listen to or interact in various presentations and workshops. Numerous themes will be covered throughout the week including Automated Driving, Sustainable Vehicles and Eco Driving, Smart Mobility Services, Smart and Safe Highways, Traffic Management and Smart Parking. But it will also host mobility debates, workshops, innovative mobility concepts pitched by start-ups, student competitions and panel discussions
