Among a range of innovations that US-headquartered 140 Transpo Industries will bring to Intertraffic Amsterdam 2014 is Screen- Safe, a work zone and median glare safety shield. According to the company, this new product addresses the maintenance issues of the plastic ‘paddle’ type of glare screens that have dominated the market over the last few years.

Screen-Safe is made from a unique double-reversed corrugated (DRC) fabric, formed from hot-dipped galvanized sheet steel. The DRC fabric is powder-coated to provide additional protection from salt and snow, making Screen- Safe the most durable highway glare screen available.

Transpo, which also specialises in polymer concrete materials, will also present T-48 Thin Overlay, a specially formulated epoxy resin that will penetrate cracks with superior bonding characteristics. Applied as slurry with thickness of ¼ to ½”, it eliminates the need to relocate joints, end dams or drain structures. The broadcast aggregate provides a waterproof, skid- and wear-resistant surface, perfect for vehicle and pedestrian traffic, while the relatively short curing time assures a quick return to service for bridge decks and other concrete surfaces.
