Gemalto launches multi-city ticketing solution for mobile phones

The latest version of Gemalto’s UpTeq Multi-Tenant NFC SIM supports multiple transport applications from different city networks by embedding the MIFARE4Mobile v2 application, allowing an NFC smart phone to work on all MIFARE Classic and DESFire transport networks.

The latest version of 3866 Gemalto’s UpTeq Multi-Tenant NFC SIM supports multiple transport applications from different city networks by embedding the MIFARE4Mobile v2 application, allowing an NFC smart phone to work on all MIFARE Classic and DESFire transport networks.

Gemalto claims the solution meets the latest mobile ticketing standards and heralds a new era of 'global roaming' for commuters, providing swift and secure contactless access to public transport across different cities or countries. It is compatible with existing infrastructures and provides transportation providers with enhanced digital ticketing while saving operating costs.
