848 Forum8 has launched its D-Box driving simulator motion software interface at ITS World Congress this week, in partnership with BMIA of Bordeaux, France. This new software plug-in is said to enhance the range of driving simulation hardware systems that can interface with the company's 3D VR driving simulation and modelling software, VR-Design Studio. D-Box allows the driver to experience true-to-life driving motion and vibrations. This capability is enabled by actuators that reproduce vehicle movement and driving sensations – including acceleration, deceleration, pitch and roll – in real time, in a virtual environment.
