The 2012 ITS World Congress marks Gewi’s 20th anniversary of keeping travellers informed worldwide, and the company will be exhibiting how its TIC Connects systems, vehicles, and travellers together. TIC has been used in live traffic information systems since 1997, and is used worldwide by many types of organisations including government agencies, police, DoT’s, commercial RDS-TMC and TPEG service providers, automobile clubs, road operators, radio stations and car and device navigation manufacturers.
Scoot Networks will gradually deploy 500 electric scooters in Santiago, Chile, to offer citizens a more sustainable mobility option. The pilot programme will take place in Las Condes' business district as part of an agreement with mayor Joaquin Lavin. The company has also released version 3.2 of the software which supports its video detection solution. Advanced tracking algorithms are combined with an enhanced, more user-friendly graphical user interface which features fully actuated intersection detection, traffic data collection, and a mini-TMC capability which uses digital pan/tilt/zoom capability for intersection surveillance.
