Vector Informatik, a German software company, will present software tools for the development of Car2x‐applications. CANoe.Car2x and CANalyzer.Car2x are used to develop, simulate, analyse and test embedded systems with WLAN. ITS Romania’s stand will host a live demonstration presenting the eCall system now operational in Romania under the HeERO project. The eCall service enables a car to automatically dial the European 112 emergency phone number if it is involved in a serious accident, while sending data to the most appropriate public service answering point. Blip Systems will use the ITS World Congress to gain further momentum for the company's BlipTrack Bluetooth tracking system that has already been deployed in many locations around the world, not just for accurate and valid travel time, traffic flow and speed information in urban areas. As the company points out, its system is able to track the same person whether they are walking, cycling, driving a car, using trains, ferries, planes and other types of transportation.
Cooperative systems in which vehicles communicate with each other (vehicle-to-vehicle or V2V) and to the road infrastructure (V2I) and collectively referred to as V2X, will build the backbone for safe driving as well as efficient and environmentally-friendly road usage in the future. So Kapsch is very much looking to the future with its V2X demonstration at the ITS World Congress by showcasing how such cooperative communication can avoid accidents, optimise fuel consumption, driving speed and travel time.
