This morning Wavetronix will use the ITS World Congress Detroit to introduce a new traffic cabinet interface device that brings the accuracy and reliability of its SmartSensor radar traffic detectors directly to intersection signal controllers. The Click 650 provides up to 64 channels of data and effectively replaces up to 16 four-channel or 32 two-channel rack cards with a small box that occupies much less space.
Budapest transport operator BKK Centre for Budapest Transport has introduced new ticket vending machines which accept both cash and card payments, enabling all passengers to buy tickets round the clock.
The company has added an English language instructional video and interactive demo to its website (link www.bkk.hu/tvm) and the vending machine menus are available in Hungarian and English, with German, French, Spanish, Romanian, Slovak, Chinese and Russian to follow shortly.
A new survey from free legal information website FindLaw.com found that 52 per cent of Americans support the use of radar speed cameras, while 48 per cent oppose them. BM Mobility has launched its Revgo electric bike-sharing service at the University of Malaya in Malaysia to provide an environmentally friendly mode of transport. A report by The Straits Times says the company will deploy 170 bikes which can travel up to 20km an hour and reach 50km on a full charge.
