The company claims that the inexpensive solution is due to the product design, as the battery requires no active cooling and its housing is made of plastic instead of metal, which also aims to bring costs down. Bosch’s engineers have designed the product so that the plastic housing can withstand the pressure of the lithiun-ion cells expanding when the battery is charging over the course of the unit’s service life.

Production for the battery is scheduled to start late 2018.

    Winners in electric vehicle batteries
According to market analyst IDTechEx, which tracks the development of 45 electric vehicle categories and not just electric cars, there are now lithium-ion battery options for everything from forklifts and mobility vehicles for the disabled to e-bikes. Indeed, almost all the e-bikes in the West and Japan use them. 8000 forklifts in the USA have fuel cells with lithium-ion batteries though the Toyota Mirai fuel cell car and the Prius hybrid car still use NiMH. Whilst capturing market in micro hybrid cars,

These feature cost-saving and emission-reducing hybrid technology that meets the EU suburban and short distance Class II regulations. Madrid recently enforced tough temporary measures to tackle pollution, including limiting speed limits and banning passenger car access to the city centre if nitrogen oxide levels exceed acceptable levels. In parallel, the Madrid t
