AVT has worked hard to make machine vision more applicable to the ITS sector, said the company’s Mario Brühl
Machine vision specialist 518 Allied Vision Technologies (AVT) is showcasing how it is producing ITS-specific camera technology for transport management applications.

“The Prosilica GT series cameras already feature an extended operating temperature range of -20 to +65C but we also offer a P-iris feature which allows precise aperture adjustment without drift through the use of a stepper motor,” said Mario Brühl, manager, Inside Sales (EMEA).

“Our latest news is the addition of a Canon EF mount which allows us to provide one-cable solutions including Power over Ethernet. This brings machine vision-application cameras right into the ITS field.”

The ability to control the iris and focus remotely is a major bonus in terms of operational flexibility and cost, Brühl noted. He also highlighted the major steps forward in sensor technology, which AVT has made in recent months. The company’s Prosilica GT camera products now incorporate Truesense KAI-16070 and KAI-29050 35mm CCD technology. These provide, respectively, 16MP (4,864 x 3,232) and 29MP (6,576 x 4,384) performance.
