Zenuity gets green light to trial self-driving cars on Swedish highways

Transportstyrelsen, the 2124 Swedish transport agency, has approved the trials which will take place on the E4 between Stockholm and Malmö; Road 40 between Jönköping and Gothenburg; and E6 between Gothenburg and Malmö.
The tests will be carried out by trained drivers who will remain behind the wheel.
Self-driving technology is already being phased into Gothenburg at the Chalmers University of Technology. German urban air taxi manufacturer Volocopter has signed a deal with Honeywell to jointly develop new navigation and automatic landing systems.
They will be used on Volocopter’s vertical take-off and landing aircraft - perhaps as early as this year, the companies suggest.
