4186 Xerox is showcasing its latest transportation innovations in on- and off-street parking, photo enforcement and mobility management here at the ITS World Congress. On display at the Xerox booth is Merge, an  analytics-based parking management system, and 360SmartView, an advanced safety e-screening solution.

Merge gives cities an innovative way to manage parking using real-time information to solve parking issues. It is the first system to fully integrate and provide analytics on all aspects of metered and off-street programs in one central location. 360SmartView enables commercial vehicle enforcement officers to focus their resources on carriers most in need of intervention. Xerox developed the software for its customer Help Incorporated, and works with them to market this product to state departments that have responsibility for commercial vehicle enforcement.

Xerox is also highlighting its Mobile Analytics Platform (MAP) and the Xerox Vehicle Passenger Detection System at the booth. MAP gives transportation managers unique perspectives on activity, including heat maps that graphically illustrate levels of transportation activity on varying services, including parking, tolling, and transit, at any given moment in any part of a city. Xerox says its Vehicle Passenger Detection System is the first to the market with a 95% accuracy rating up to 100 mph, and it aims to deter drivers from breaking the rules using patented video analytics identifying the number of empty versus occupied seats in a vehicle.
