WSP appoints Marie-Elsie Dowell Miami FES president

WSP has appointed Marie-Elsie Dowell, a senior technical manager, president of the Miami chapter of the Florida Engineering Society (FES). She will be responsible for improving transit in the region. FES is an association of professional engineers which supports engineering education and promotes the ethical practice of engineering. 6666 WSP has appointed Marie-Elsie Dowell, a senior technical manager, president of the Miami chapter of the Florida Engineering Society (FES). She will be responsible for improving transit in the region.

FES is an association of professional engineers which supports engineering education and promotes the ethical practice of engineering.

Dowell has been involved in the chapter and has served as a mentor in the Future City Competition, in which school students research and design cities of the future.

Additionally, Dowell has developed a mentor-protégé programme while serving as chair of the local Women’s Transportation Seminar – which matched women transportation professionals together.

Dowell started her career with WSP 26 years ago and has since been involved in transportation projects in South Florida such as traffic simulation for the Miami Intermodal Center and the Fort Lauderdale airport-seaport connector.
