As we reach the 22nd edition of the 6456 ITS World Congress, I look back to the first ITS World Congress in 1994 and feel so proud for all the achievements of these past decades.

With less than 10 weeks away, the Programme is taking its final shape and form into one of the most exciting industry events of this year. Over 200 Sessions and meetings have been organised for the five days, including the impressive opening day, three prestigious Plenary Sessions, 14 high level executive sessions, and the Closing Ceremony with top speakers from France, Europe, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region.

The Congress will kick off on Monday, 5 October, 2015, with a Ministerial roundtable on climate change and will continue with the grand Opening Ceremony and the Welcome reception for all the participants in the exhibition. On Tuesday we start with our first thematic day dedicated to connected and automated driving; on the same day we are hosting two high-level technology summits on urban mobility and automation and the first Plenary “ITS delivering societal changes”.

On Wednesday, in addition to the second Plenary on space technologies (a first for the Congress), the day will be fully dedicated to a new theme for the event: freight and logistics. On Thursday, the day is dedicated to urban mobility, we open the doors of the Congress to the public; and on Friday we will close this exciting programme with the last Plenary Session “From personal connectivity to connected mobility” and the Closing Ceremony.

In parallel to this, a lot of effort has been put in to coordinate and guarantee a similar spectacular demonstration programme; French and international companies such as Thales, VeDeCom, PSA Peugeot Citroën, AKKA, Valeo, Renault, Orange from France, Cohda Wireless (Australia), Continental, NXP and Ibeo (Germany), Catapult Satellite (UK), Lindsay (USA), and Aisin (Japan) are currently finalising over 30 live demos for a smooth show outside the congress centre. All those companies will be present also in the outstanding exhibition of 25,000m2 together with our sponsors, ASFA, Catapult, Here, Continental, SNCF, Aximum, Forum8, egis, NXP, SPIE and Keolis.

This year we also look carefully to students and young developers with the 24 hours of innovation student competition and the ITS Bordeaux hackathon.

Last but not least, participants will enjoy an incredible social programme including our traditional welcome reception, the wine feria and gala dinner.

374 Ertico will of course be present with an over-100m2 booth (B95) where we will present our ITS programmes, activities and projects (including Compass4D, Mobinet, Co-Gistics, VRA, iMobility Forum). So make sure to stop by, have a coffee and a chat with us.
