Waymo scraps AV operations in Austin

Waymo is closing its operations in the US city of Austin following an increase in investment in the Detroit and Phoenix areas. Earlier this year, the company entered into an %$Linker: 2 External <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><dictionary /> 0 0 0 link-external agreement false https://www.itsinternational.com/categories/utc/news/waymo-and-lyft-bring-more-avs-to-phoenix/ false false%> to deploy 10 AVs on Lyft’s platform to serve as a ride-hailing service in the Metro Phoenix area.
