Valerann has received the prestigious Prince Michael International Road Safety Award 2024 for the effective use of AI and advanced data analytics in road safety.

The awards were established in 1987 and are designed to give public recognition to organisations and individuals who have improved road safety worldwide.

Data analytics platform Lanternn by Valerann - which won the Inspiration award at Intertraffic earlier this year - uses complex analytics to gather road traffic and weather data into a  real-time overview of an agency's roads, detecting incidents and prioritising alerts.

This enables traffic authorities to reduce response time and mitigate risks, Valerann says.

“This distinguished recognition underscores the commitment of the Valerann team, and highlights the vital and transformational role AI and the data-driven approach plays in saving lives on our roads," says CEO Gabriel Jacobson.

“Our mission has always been to empower road traffic authorities to take accurate and timely data-driven decisions, thus making their roads safer. The Prince Michael International Road Safety Award motivates us to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation to ensure that road safety remains a global priority.”

The Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards ceremony will take place at The Savoy in London on 10 December 2024.
