Road weather management best practices

This webinar will walk participants through the recently updated Best Practices for Road Weather Management, Version 3.0 developed under the 831 Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Road Weather Management Program. The report captures 27 new, state-of-the-art case studies of systems in 22 states, which build upon previous successes, ultimately improving roadway operations under inclement weather conditions. The speakers will provide an overview of systems deployed within their respective state, discussing operational procedures, transportation outcomes, and implementation issues.
 
The webinar will be hosted by Ray Murphy of the US Department of Transportation - Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Office of Technical Services. Webinar presenters are:

•    John Liu, Deputy District Director, Caltrans District 6, Division of Maintenance and Operations;   
•    Brian Kary, Freeway Operations Engineer, Regional Transportation Management Center, 2103 Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT); and

    Swiss show traffic management control system at ITS World Congress
    The Swiss Federal Roads Office (FEDRO), as regulator of roads issues and as constructor and operator of motorways, will present its project for a traffic management control system based on a service oriented architecture called INA (Integrated Applications). The regional traffic management centre of Zurich (RL-VRZ) will demonstrate how cooperation between the canton, the cities of Zurich and Winterthur, as well as the management of the national roads in the agglomeration of Zurich, works.
