UK team develop new electric traction motor and drive for Ariel supercar

A collaboration between two UK-based electric motor design and engineering companies has led to the development of the new high performance electric motor for the Ariel Hipercar, which made its first appearance at Cenex-LCV Expo 2017. A collaboration between two UK-based electric motor design and engineering companies has led to the development of the new high performance electric motor for the Ariel Hipercar, which made its first appearance at Cenex-LCV Expo 2017.


Motor Design (MDL), a developer of advanced software design tools for electrical machines, worked with Equipmake, specialists in design, prototyping and production of high performance motors and power electronics. MDL used its Motor-CAD software to assist in the development of Equipmake’s APM200 motor.
