UITP and APTA cooperate on mobility training

Two public transit associations are to cooperate on training around electric buses and new mobility services as part of a new agreement. The 3833 International Association of Public Transport (UITP) and the American Public Transportation Association (618 APTA) have signed a memorandum of understanding which will see them identifying training programmes on other issues going forward. UITP and APTA said they would work together, “where possible, to organise joint events on topics of common interest to the benefit of their respective and common members”. Paul Skoutelas, APTA president and CEO, says: “We have identified many areas for concrete exchange of best practices and know-how from electrification to addressing the evolving mobility environment. I look forward to developing shared activities which will be valuable to the US and international transit community.”

UITP is hosting a taxi platform meeting and new mobility services learning visit to Silicon Valley in San Francisco on 12 November.
