Aimsun TSS-Transport Simulation Systems’ (TSS) Traffic Software
TSS-Transport Simulation Systems’ (TSS) 16 Aimsun traffic simulation software, capable of fusing static, dynamic and hybrid approaches within a single environment, will be a feature of the company’s participation at the ITS World Congress. But it is a sister application, Aimsun Online, that will grab a lot of attention from delegates and not just because it provides a real-time decision support system for traffic management. Its dynamic, high-speed simulation of large areas allows traffic operators to accurately forecast the future network flow patterns that will result from a particular traffic management or information provision strategy.

TSS will be highlighting the fact that, among other projects, Aimsun Online has been selected as the simulation-based subsystem in the decision support system (DSS) demonstrator in a prestigious integrated corridor management (ICM) project for the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), in California. Expected to go live in spring 2013, the DSS is a ‘smart’ traffic management system that will give system managers comprehensive awareness of the performance of the entire corridor. TSS says it will also allow them to take proactive steps to prevent system breakdown using enhanced controls across devices such as traffic signals, ramp meters, and message signs.

Peek Traffic building on success with new ATC-2000
Peek Traffic Corporation will use the ITS America Annual Meeting to announce the next addition to the successful family of Peek ATC controllers. Joining the ATC-CBD and ATC-1000 controllers is the upcoming ATC-2000 which will make its debut. Designed to utilize the same robust Greenwave local intersection control software used in the ATC-1000 NEMA style controller, the company says the ATC-2000 will bring that level of advanced functionality to the Caltrans style 332/336 cabinet. The design combines the adv

    Romania to demonstrate eCall network
ITS Romania’s stand will host a live demonstration presenting the eCall system now operational in Romania under the HeERO project. The eCall service enables a car to automatically dial the European 112 emergency phone number if it is involved in a serious accident, while sending data to the most appropriate public service answering point. The eCall demonstrator will show how emergency calls are handled, by setting up a workstation in Vienna that will be able to answer eCalls generated in Romania. The demons
