Siemens is to supply an intelligent transportation system for the Polish city of Poznan to integrate public and private transport in an effort to reduce congestion and enhance the attractiveness of public transportation. The contract, awarded by the Poznan transportation authority Zarząd Dróg Miejskich w Poznaniu (ZDM) is valued at around US$20 million. Commissioning of the system is scheduled for spring 2015.
Manufacturer and distributor of engines China Yuchai International (CYI), through its main subsidiary Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Group, has announced that 200 hybrid buses have been delivered to the city-based Baotou Bus company in inner Mongolia. The fleet has been manufactured by Inner Mongolia Qingshan Automobile. Redflex Traffic Systems has won a contract to operate an automated work zone speed enforcement (AWZSE) programme in the US state of Pennsylvania.
The deal is with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (DoT).
The contract is expected to generate $30 million in revenue for the Redflex over the initial term of the agreement which will end February 2024.
